Smart Grid Development
Another application of our products is for smart grid develpoment and the building of microgrids, sometimes known as local energy communities (LEC).
A smart grid is a group of power sources and consumers that are normally connected to the public grid. It integrates various distributed renewable energy sources and forms a network of prosumers. For example these include, owners of PV systems that produce electricity, consume it themselves, return it to the grid or purchase it from the grid.
The xelectrix Power Box is the ideal storage solution for multiple households, who produce electricity themselves via PV and/or wind. Additionally by sharing the storage, self-consumption of self-generated energy is optimized and grid costs are reduced. A LEC can therefore store electricity more efficiently and at more favorable conditions than with conventional home storage systems. A further benefit is the Power Box reduces the Community risk in case of power failure or grid disruptions.
The microgrid can be disconnected from the network and work autonomously in an island mode, thus creating an autonomous network locally. In the event of a grid disconnection, for example in the event of a blackout, the emergency power functionality ensures continuous supply to the local energy community (LEC).
